A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Team H will attend A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Globe Theatre in London, Wed July 31, 7:30 PM. If you want to join us, you need to order a ticket: link.
The Globe is a re-creation of the theater where Shakespeare put on most of his plays; it’s an intimate space, and the actors interact emotionally with the audience, especially the “groundlings”, who stand in the “Yard” immediately in front of the stage.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a play about the folly and madness of young love—and how that socially disruptive passion can be made to serve as the glue that binds society together.
We recommend that you purchase an inexpensive (£5) Yard ticket. That means you’ll be standing for the whole performance, but you’ll have a great view of the stage—especially if you arrive by 7pm.
If anyone is concerned about the cost, we can subsidize you—just email me or one of the other Team H faculty.
We look forward to seeing you there!
